Cod is one of the most common
and economically important marine fishes in
Norway, being a good source of protein, vitamin
B12 and selenium and also having a healthy balance
of sadium and potassium, makes it one of the
best foods on the market.

Haddock is a ground fish
that lives at depths of between 40 and 300 metres.
Haddock is one of the most important sea foods
in Norway. Haddock is primarily an excellent
source of protein. It also contains plenty of
vitamin B12, pyridoxine and selenium and has
a good balance of sodium and potassium.

SAITHE Pollachius virens - Sei - Lieu noir - Köhler
Saithe is both a pelagic
and a demersal fish. It swims in shoals, which
can be enormous in good habitats with plenty
of food. Like the other fish in the cod family,
Saithe is an outstanding source of protein.

at depths of 100 to 500 metres. Redfish is a
tasty sea food, with oily meat that stays fresh
for a long time, but which tastes best salted.

CATFISH Anarhichas spp. - Steinbit - Loup de mer - Katfisch
The characteristic powerful jaws and teeth
of this species testify to its natural adaptation
to its favourite foods: sea urchins, mussels,
cockles and crabs. Catfish is delicious and
is exported under a variety of names, such as
cutlet fish and oyster fish.

GREENLAND HALIBUT
Reinhardtius hippoglossoides - Blåkveite - Flétan noir - Schwarzer Heilbutt
Greenland halibut is an
arctic species that prefers cold waters. It
is an oily fish and is mostly sold smoked and
sliced. The fat content of Greenland halibut
varies; however, it provides plenty of the essential
fatty acids and is an excellent source of vitamin
D.
